Bear
BEAR is a big black boy with a soulful frosty face. He has just turned 6 years old and last raced way back in June 2025, so we would love for him not to wait any longer and get him into a forever home.

He interacts well with both the male and female greyhounds.

BEAR took a trip to the local part for assessment. He jumped in and out of the car. On lead, he walked nicely, occasionally stopping to take a look around.

As for dogs, BEAR met a spaniel that initially didn't want to talk to him. When the spaniel decided he would, BEAR got a little more excited and did a dance and a bark. An off-lead terrier was a bit too much for him too.

BEAR would be helped by more exposure to other breeds to get used to seeing them. Many of our ex racers haven’t come across other dog shapes in an outdoor situation, and it can initially be a little too much for them. Time and patience, patience and time…

BEAR was fine walking past a children’s park run and adult joggers and managed the stairs easily. He was also fine with passing traffic. A confident boy.

These photos do not do BEAR justice, the videos on Facebook are a better reflection of his character. Sadly, the grey faced black boys often struggle to catch the eye. Someone just needs to fall in love with our big, black BEAR and bring out the best in him, see him blossom, and that can only be in a loving home.
